My Enduring Fascination with Jackie Brown: A Personal Reflection

Tarantino without the flash? Believe it. Jackie Brown isn't just a crime thriller—it's a masterclass in slow-burn tension and unforgettable characters. Years later, it's the one that sticks with me. From Samuel L. Jackson's menacing charm to Pam Grier's revolutionary presence, this film sent me down a rabbit hole of 70s Blaxploitation and changed my view of Tarantino forever.

I started my journalism career in college as an entertainment writer and eventually moved into the Sports Editor position. After graduation I worked as a Stringer for the Wilmington Star-News and covered Track & Field and Lacorsse. After eight months I was hired as a General Assignment Reporter for the Topsail Voice. In 2006, I was hired by Student Sports as a general assignment writer and moved into the role of Editor for MDVarsity.com. Purchased by ESPN in July 2008, Student Sports relaunched as ESPNRISE.com and I was promoted to the Contact Sports Editor in charge of football and lacrosse. In 2009, I took over lacrosse full-time. I am currently the Founder and COO of LaxRecords.com and the Mid-Atlantic reporter for US Lacrosse and where I manage the Nike/US Lacrosse Top 25 voting panel and a staff of four freelance journalists.

Road To Signing Day: Kevin McReynolds Pt. 1

Created as part of a larger project intended to integrate ESPNRise (ESPN's original name for its high school site) with ESPNU. I pitched the idea during a conference call to film top high school athletes during their recruiting process. Kevin McReynolds was an Under Armour All-American and had yet to make his college choice. I conceptualized the idea, hired the crew and worked with McReynolds, coaching staff and St. John's College University on times and locations for the shoot. The video was showcased during the Under Armour All-American Game on ESPNU just before National Signing Day.

Day In The Life: Paul Rabil

This piece captures how unique landscape of professional lacrosse and won the Communicator Award (also known as the Telly award). Tasked with originating an idea for our client, Warrior Lacrosse, I planned a video series that highlighted their top athlete and gave our audience a behind the scenes look at the life of the first million dollar athlete in professional lacrosse. It was my task to hire the crew, direct the overall plan and conduct the interview segments. I oversaw the project from beginning to end, including spending time in the editing room for guidance to best serve Warrior.
